Another reason why we love Austin! There are many Farmer’s Markets! Not only is organic produce healthy, but buying from Farmer’s Markets support the community!
Here are our picks for best Farmer’s Markets around town!
1. Voted Austin’s favorite farmers’ market via Austin Chronicle for the past five years and counting, the Texas Farmers Market at Mueller is a family and local favorite spot to shop, eat and enjoy fresh vegetables and artisan foods from local vendors and farmers. They even offer free community composting on Sundays and kids events at every market. Visitors often enjoy their market finds with a picnic by the pond and may even have a few ducks join in on the fun!
2. The SFC Farmers’ Markets are a project of the Sustainable Food Center. Both SFC Farmers’ Markets are producer-only, which means that farmers may only sell what they grow, and other vendors can only sell products that they themselves produce. This is their assurance to their customers that they are supporting local farmers and are purchasing the best food for themselves and their families!
3. HOPE Farmers Market has lined the street with vendors every Sunday afternoon since 2009. The iconic market embodies the essence of the Austin culture including food, crafts, music, art, and community exchange. Locals can find a little bit of everything, including farm-fresh produce, meat and dairy, tasty brunch, hot and cold drinks, handmade gifts, and more.
